Bikes and beer, there couldn't be a better combination, right?
Fort Collins has the most brewers and microbreweries per capita of any city in Colorado. Colorado is now ranked second in country for most craft beer by production volume. We also have a strong biking tradition with one major brewery being all about bikes and beer. It certainly makes for a fun combination.
After a day of touring
At the beginning of the year, I (Jen) wrote about goal setting. I had publicly proclaimed my goal of running a sub 3-hour, 45-minute marathon in an attempt to qualify for the Boston Marathon. My training was going great until late February/early March when work and life got in the way. I did the smart thing; I reevaluated my goal.

Most people know that stress can be relieved or reduced by exercise training, but did you know that stress can actually derail your training, too?
Training is a physical process. The basic principal of training is to apply stress to your body in a consistent and controlled manner to elicit a desired training response. Cardiovascular and strength workouts stress the heart and muscle groups.
I had the opportunity to meet with Don McGrath author of 50 Athletes Over 50 – Teach Us to Live a Strong, Healthy Life. Throughout his 50 interviews with these older athletes he found several themes that repeated themselves over and over again. Most notably was a “pure joy of moving their bodies,” and from this idea the concept of adult play was born.
